April 21, 1775: Alarms sound in Williamsburg; the public gunpowder has been taken! Guests of all ages will heed the call to arms and join the Williamsburg Independent Company. Falling in on the Palace Green, recruits will be briefed on the current predicament, before being marched to the Public Magazine for drill and training in the manual exercise. Captain James Innes will inspect the company as they prepare to defend the Colony, and to take back what was stolen, by force if necessary.
Under Arms: Assemble the Independent Company is a participative program. Guests must be able to stand for at least 40 minutes. The program is open to all would-be soldiers ages 6 to 80.
